Seb Forest Soul
Long, long awaited second volume of Bali's Ecstatic Dance maestro Raio's Pachamantra series. These new songs feel so fresh and are a must-play for any conscious dj. I already played the first single of this album in my early January gig this year.
Raio’s fresh perspective on organic electronic music dances in the colorful confluence where jungle meets ocean and jaguars chase hummingbirds who always get away. He infuses his music with rhythms of a rediscovered tribe, vibes of a positive nature, and lyricism rooted in the heart.
Pachamantra Vol 2 weaves prayerful vocals with afro-inflected guitar lines, native flutes, tribal percussion, and delicate electronic production. Welcome to storytelling from an ancient future,
where choruses become mantras from the temples of nature.
Spirit-guided travels have a way of opening the doors of creation. The origins of Pachamantra Vol 2 go back many moons to a serendipitous encounter in Quito. His now-soul-brother Pablo Vicencio, the legendary Ecuadorian percussionist and producer, just happened to have some rare free time. Raio diverted his journey to drop in on Pablo's studio for a few days of fun and fungi, capturing inspired recordings that became the rhythmic roots of the project.Collaboration is one of Raio's greatest joys, and Pablo was just the first of many incredible artists to contribute
to the tracks. Other guests include his beloved wife Sophie Söfrēē, Chile’s Sebatierra, Senegalese griot Vieux Aliou Cissokho, divine songbird Pao Pamaki, Ozzie afro-cuban maestro Simon
Ranguis, Brooklyn-based horn player Troy “Mobius” Simms, Native Flute maestro Kailash Kokopelli, Brazil-based guitarist Richie Perrot, and the unparalleled turntablist and simply lovely brother
Scott Nice.Raio is a musician, producer, and DJ who’s been uplifting the tribe in Bali for the last 16 years. He’s also a father, an eco-community steward, co-founder of Colibri Spirit Festival
and BaliSpirit Festival, and operator of a mystic jungle studio. He and his wife Sophie Söfrēē are the ma and pa behind the Wakamaia School of Sacred Fun, offering trainings in ecstatic
dance DJ'ing, sound healing, and more.
